Three people have been taken to hospital following a fire at a flat in Pollokshields this evening.
Police and fire crews raced to the scene of the blaze, on Melville Street, just before 7pm.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said: “We were alerted at 6.58pm on Monday, November 18, to reports of a dwelling fire at Melville Street, Pollokshields, Glasgow.
“Operations Control mobilised four appliances to the scene, where crews were met with a fire within a four-storey building.
“Three casualties have been handed over to the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
“Firefighters remain at the scene.”
The incident comes just days after a building collapsed after a fire took hold of a takeaway on nearby Albert Drive.
