Three hospitalised following car crash on Mather Avenue

Three people have been taken to hospital following a two-vehicle collision on Mather Avenue in Allerton on Thursday afternoon.

Officers were called to the junction of Mather Avenue and Greenhill Road at 2pm after reports that a Toyota Yaris and a Kia Rio had been involved in a crash.

The male driver and the female passenger of the Toyota Yaris as well as the male passenger in the Kia have all been taken to hospital for further assessment to their injuries. Their condition is not yet known.

Dramatic police chase footage shows car trying to flee by driving on wrong side of the road

Eyewitnesses described both cars as “badly damaged” and said that “ four or five fire engines and ambulances” were on the scene.

According to resident Angela Nana: "One (car) hit the lamp post which collapsed - that was the noise I heard from inside the house.

"A lady just had a lucky escape -  one of the neighbours said, she was crossing at the time."
