Three Georgia players go in first round of CBS Sports NFL mock draft

Three Georgia players go in the first round of Josh Edwards 2020 NFL mock draft on CBSSports.

The three Bulldogs taken in the mock draft, Andrew Thomas, Jake Fromm and D’Andre Swift, all will have one more year of eligibility remaining if they decide to postpone their NFL careers and return to Athens.

But right now, pretty much every publication sees those three as first round picks next Spring.

With the first pick in Edward’s mock draft, he has Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa going to the Cincinnati Bengals, where he could be throwing passes to former Bulldog AJ Green if the team decides not to trade him.

The first Georgia player off the board in this mock draft is offensive tackle Thomas, who goes No. 5 to the Miami Dolphins.

At No. 12 goes Fromm to the Tennessee Titans, who Georgia fans will be begging to stick around one more year in Athens.

On Fromm, Edwards wrote:

“Marcus Mariota is not the answer. Fromm is a quarterback with an elite understanding of how defenses work. His ceiling is higher than any other quarterback prospect.”

With the 30th pick in the mock draft, edwards has Swift going to the Green Bay Packers.

“Swift is an all-around asset,” edwards wrote. “He is an elusive runner with the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield or stay home and block for Aaron Rodgers.”
