Dramatic footage of three Deliveroo appearing to attack a man in a terrifying street fight has emerged.
The incident was filmed in Lewisham, south east London, and showed three drivers surrounding a man.
One of the drivers can be seen throwing punches and kicking a man in white shorts before he eventually manages to get a baseball bat to defend himself from the drivers.
An eyewitness claimed the three Deliveroo drivers were armed with “chains and other weapons”.
The footage was uploaded to Facebook following the incident on Saturday night.
The clip was captioned: “Walking the dog last night and watched three Deliveroo drivers attack this man.”
Two drivers wearing the delivery company’s green and grey jackets can be seen among the brawl while another stands and watches.
As the man appears to step back, one of the drivers can be seen coming up from his side, jumping and kicking the man.
The driver then repeats this and starts throwing fists at him.
Screams of “stop it, stop it” can be heard in the background from terrified onlookers.
The man initially seen being attacked is then given a baseball bat as someone off camera can be heard saying: “Go on smack him up for f*** sake, do his bike at least.”
The man in white shorts is then seen smashing one of the bikes as one of the drivers tries to make a quick getaway, but falls over.
Another bike, which has an ‘L’ plate on the back is then seen almost colliding with another car, but then eventually manages to get past before the clip ends.
Many social media users were shocked by the footage.
One user said: “Wtf,” and another said: “This is crazy.”
Whilst one joked: “No wonder the food is always cold.”
The man who filmed the clip, who wishes to remain anonymous, described the attack as “disgusting”.
He said: “It was disgusting. The three guys were attacking the man. Even though the man tried to protect himself, it could have been worse, he could have been seriously hurt.
“One of the Deliveroo drivers was driving frantically and when the man with the car went to turn in at a junction, the Deliveroo driver clipped the back of him.
“He then called on the other two Deliveroo drivers and soon they had chains and other weapons started attacking the driver.
“One of them had a nasty tool, the driver had something in his car. Thank god he did.
“These three Deliveroo driver shouldn’t get away with it. They were just animals”
He added: “The police were called, but didn’t attend. Europe’s biggest police station is only down the road.
“There is usually police up and down this road regularly.
“This is the first time I have seen anything like this in 20 years of living here. These guys need to be addressed.”
A Deliveroo spokesman said: “Deliveroo does not condone any sort of violence. We are aware of this incident and are investigating the video to identify the riders involved.”
The Metropolitan Police said the incident had not been reported to them.
