Three countries Brits can travel to without taking a covid test

As Omicron cases spread rapidly across the UK, dozens of countries have essentially banned UK citizens from visiting them - while others have introduced new rules for Brits.

Earlier this month, the French government said it was imposing a ban on all tourists whether vaccinated or not.

German nationals are still permitted to travel from the UK to Germany but they must present a negative test before they fly and quarantine for two weeks upon arrival.

For those wanting a holiday, however, a visit is off limits after Germany designated the UK a "virus variant area."

More and more countries are closing their borders to UK tourists - with a few of these having essentially stopped all international travel.

Other countries have implemented stricter rules for those entering from the UK.

If you're looking to go away, though, there are some places willing to welcome Brits without any restrictions.

Though it is important to reiterate all British travellers will be required to undertake a PCR test on their return to the UK, and isolate until you have the result.

These three countries currently allow Brits to enter without having to take a test or quarantine:

Mexico

Most visitors from the United Kingdom can enter Mexico without restrictions, as Mexico is open to travellers regardless of their vaccination status.

Travellers are required to complete a Health Declaration Form and scan the QR code it generates on arrival.

Costa Rica

Adults who are not fully-vaccinated can visit Costa Rice as long as they have proof of travel insurance that covers lodging and medical expenses in case of contracting Covid-19.

Anyone aged 18 or under, along with fully-vaccinated adults, can enter Costa Rica without mandatory insurance.

Between now and February 7, 2022, travellers may be required to prove their vaccination to enter certain establishments.

El Salvador

Most travellers can enter El Salvador without a negative test result and do not have to quarantine on arrival.

You also do not need to be vaccinated, however, travellers are advised to bring proof of vaccination as this may be required for entry to specific events and premises.
