Three common rashes you need to look out for which could indicate you have omicron

Covid researchers have spotted many tell tale signs to indicate that a person has been infected with the virus and as many aware, each variant has it's own symptoms.

The usual three indications are often a fever, a new and continues cough as well as a loss or change pin your taste and/or smell.

As new data emerges, the more information we get about specific strains of the virus with omicorn presenting eight early signs look out for.

These include:

  • Scratchy throat
  • Runny nose/congestion
  • Headache
  • Lower back pain
  • Fatigue
  • Sneezing
  • Night sweats
  • Body aches

But now researchers have warned that three common rashes could be a sign you have caught the omicron variant, reports Glasgow Live.

The first is said to be similar to a prickly heat rash. It appears in small areas and is itchy and bumpy. It can appear anywhere on the body but is believed to have been most commonly found on the hands and feet, as well as elbows.

This rash can last for days and in some cases weeks.

The second is similar to a hives rash and appears as raised bumps on the skin. This tends to come and go within days.

The final type of rash is said to be like chilblains. This can appear as purple or red in colouring and often stick out above the skin like little bumps.

These are not reported to be itchy and are commonly found in younger people who have the virus.

The skin symptoms discussed are thought to be visible for some people with the virus who are not showing any other symptoms.

Although you may develop rashes similar to the above, it doesn't mean you have covid and there could be another reason for this. However people are now being urged to take an LFT to be on the safe side.
