BHOPAL: Three children were killed and four others sustained injuries due to an explosion inside a house in Madhya Pradesh's Bhind district on Saturday morning.
The explosion occurred at 6.30am in Pura village. The injured individuals were shifted to the primary health center in Gormi, and later, the couple was referred to Gwalior for advanced medical treatment.
According to sources, the house where the mishap occurred was in the midst of wedding preparations for the family's younger son. The sheer force of the explosion was so intense that it completely demolished the house's roof.
Preliminary information provided by the family suggests that the accident occurred due to a gas leak from a domestic cylinder. Authorities have initiated a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause of the tragedy. The incident is also being scrutinized by a team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) to shed light on the sequence of events leading to the explosion.
Deceased were identified as Karthik (4) and Bhavna (10), children of Arvind Kadere, as well as Pari (4), the daughter of Pooja Kadere. Sadly, all three children lost their lives at the scene of the accident. Among the injured are Akhilesh Kadere (50), Vimla Kadere (45), Meera Kadere (30), and Pooja's sister-in-law, Nandu Kadere. Akhilesh and Vimla, currently in critical condition, have been transferred to Gwalior for specialized medical care.
This tragic incident occurred amid the preparations for the upcoming wedding of Akhilesh Kadere's younger son, leaving the entire family in a state of shock and despair. Satendra, the groom-to-be, was scheduled to visit the house on June 17, followed by a procession at Kiratpura in Lahar on June 22. The household was bustling with wedding arrangements, and Pooja had also arrived at her maternal home with her four-year-old daughter, Pari. Pooja's in-laws reside in Khirla village, Agra. The explosion transpired while Meera was preparing tea and breakfast, as reported by the police.
The impact of the explosion was severe, resulting in the complete destruction of the house's roof, shattered windows and doors, and blackened walls. Initial findings indicate that the blast originated from the room where the children were sleeping, which also happened to house a small grocery shop.
