Three Chelsea stars most likely to be sold to fund Timo Werner and Ben Chilwell transfers

Chelsea are under pressure to complete the transfer of Timo Werner what with his £50million release clause expiring on Monday.

Frank Lampard's side beat Liverpool to the signing of the RB Leipzig star after the Reds pulled out of the running, and are in advanced negotiations with the forward.

Chelsea were hoping to sign the Germany international this week, but the coronavirus pandemic has caused unforeseen problems.

Werner is unable to simply board a flight to England to complete a medical at Chelsea's Cobham training base, undergo the various procedures and put pen to paper on a contract.

As a result, the Blues are in a race against time to sign Werner this weekend before he is no longer available for a mere £50m.

Should Chelsea fail to secure the transfer then, in theory, RB Leipzig can bump up the price of their star forward.

Werner was recently valued at £80.5m by the CIES Football Observatory, suggesting Chelsea will be getting a great deal on the 24-year-old.

But the Blues, who are also in pursuit of Leicester City full-back Ben Chilwell, must also offload some players to balance the books.

The three high-profile stars most likely to leave this summer are: Michy Batshuayi, Pedro and Willian.

Both Pedro and Willian are out of contract this month, meaning the Blues won't get a transfer fee for either player but will get them off their wage bill.

Batshuayi has one year remaining on his Chelsea contract, and could command a transfer fee of around £15million.
