Three Chelsea players miss Stamford Bridge open training ahead of Arsenal clash

N'Golo Kante and Christian Pulisic are doubts for Chelsea's clash against Arsenal at the weekend after missing the Blues' open training session at Cobham.

Fans at the training ground were unable to see the two stars as injury concerns mount ahead of the weekend's London derby.

Kante missed Chelsea's opener against Crystal Palace on Saturday and still hasn't shaken off his ankle discomfort. Meanwhile, Pulisic, who scored the second goal in the 3-0 win, could also face a late fitness test.

Hakim Ziyech is also still not in training following his injury in the UEFA Super Cup final win over Villarreal.

The Moroccan scored Chelsea's only goal of that clash, but unfortunately sustained a shoulder injury shortly before the sides went to the dressing room for half-time.

It's not all doom and gloom, however, as fans were treated to seeing Romelu Lukaku in Chelsea colours again.

The Belgian completed his £97.5million move to west London almost a week ago now, but was only able to train with the first-team for the first time yesterday after having to self-isolate for a sustained period due to Covid protocols.

Speaking before the end of Lukaku's quarantine period, Thomas Tuchel confirmed that the 28-year-old club record signing could be handed his second Chelsea debut at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon.

Tuchel said: "We expect Romelu to finish quarantine in time to be able to join team training on Tuesday; Monday is our day off. So we will try to prepare him to play against Arsenal and hopefully he can be on the pitch."
