A three-car smash on a busy Scots main road closed the route for three hours earlier today.
Emergency services rushed to the A75 in Dumfries at around 9.45am following reports of a collision.
The crash occurred between the junction at the Cuckoo Bridge retail park and the Bloomfield roundabout to the north west of the town centre.
Officers moved to close off the single carriageway road in both directions while they investigated and removed vehicles from the scene.
Traffic was diverted onto Edinburgh Road to the south in the meantime.
Road network monitor Traffic Scotland says the road was re-opened again at around 1pm.
"Both directions closed between Cuckoo Bridge and Bloomfield Roundabout due to an RTC," it said on Twitter.
"Police are on scene - please use an alternative route for now."
Details of any injuries are yet to be released by Police Scotland.
A force spokesperson said: "We were called to a three-car collision on the A75 in Dumfries at around 9.45am on Wednesday, 10 November.
"Fire and ambulance were also in attendance.
"We are unable to advise on any injuries."
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed it was called to assist but could not provide further details.
The smash is the latest to occur on the A75 in recent weeks.
Last month, a motorcyclist was left with "serious injuries" after being involved in a three-vehicle collision on the road between the Bloomfield and Brownrigg Roundabouts in Dumfries.
And 20-year-old Ryan Allison was killed on the road in Stranraer after he was struck by a silver Skoda Superb taxi on October 30 near Inch Church.
