Three boys have been charged after a teenager was stabbed in east London.

Police were called shortly after 9am on Tuesday to Longbridge Road in Dagenham following reports of an assault.

Officers and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service rushed to the scene, and a 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital with stab wounds.

The Met Police said his condition is not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

The force explained that four boys have since been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause GBH and possession of an offensive weapon.

Three boys under the age of 18 have since been charged and remanded into custody.

All three appeared at a youth court held at Barkingside Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
