Three boys arrested after NHS doctors have home burgled and car stolen

Three teenage boys have been arrested after a car was stolen from the home of four junior doctors.

The NHS staff were the victims of a break-in at their home in King George V Drive East in Heath, Cardiff, near the University Hospital of Wales.

Three boys – two aged 16 and one aged 17 – were arrested during the early hours of Wednesday in Splott. A South Wales Police spokesman said they were suspected of travelling in a stolen Peugeot 108 which failed to stop for officers in Railway Street.

“The car had been stolen from King George V Drive East earlier in the evening while the occupants – four junior doctors – were asleep in bed,” the force spokesman added.

“It was abandoned in Gwendoline Place and the three suspects were found hiding nearby by Cathays response officers.

“The car will be returned to the doctors as soon as possible, once it has been properly examined by crime scene investigators.

“The teenagers, who are from Penarth, Heath, and Rhiwbina, were arrested on suspicion of possession of weapons, drugs, and burglary and they remain in police custody.”
