Three Bears: Kyle Fuller too cold

Sept. 21--Too hot

Josh Bellamy

Bellamy's first career catch, a 48-yard touchdown from Jay Cutler in the first quarter, was three years in the making. His eyes widened after the snap when cornerbacks Patrick Peterson and Jerraud Powers ran toward Marquess Wilson in the flat. With the back end unguarded, Bellamy sprinted behind the blown coverage. He hauled in the catch at the 25-yard line and outraced safety Rashad Johnson to the end zone. Sunday's game was the 14th of Bellamy's career, including stints with the Chiefs and Redskins since 2012.

Too cold

Kyle Fuller

The Bears' first-round pick in 2014 was replaced in the fourth quarter by Terrance Mitchell, who was a seventh-round pick of the Cowboys last year. Coach John Fox said of Fuller's performance: "I just know we gave up 170 yards of penalties on downfield throws, and it wasn't a mystery that we were going to see some of those." Fuller was flagged just once -- a 42-yard pass interference on which he hacked receiver John Brown's arms. But he also was frozen by a flea-flicker on which his man, Larry Fitzgerald, was open for a 28-yard touchdown.

Just right

Jared Allen

The Bears pass rush failed to consistently disrupt the quarterback again this week, but Allen did force a turnover late in the first half. He rushed unblocked off the right side of the defense and jumped when quarterback Carson Palmer threw quickly. Allen batted the ball up, then dived for the interception. It was the sixth pick of his career and first since 2011. The turnover gave the Bears possession at the Cardinals' 12-yard line, but they settled for a field goal after two short completions and a loss of 2 on a third-and-inches run.
