Three Bears: Jay Cutler too hot

Nov. 27--Too hot

Jay Cutler

No, this wasn't a statistical gem. Cutler completed 19 of 30 passes for 200 yards, including a 3-yard TD pass to Zach Miller in the second quarter. But Cutler's composure and resolve seemed contagious throughout the night. After a sloppy offensive start, the Bears kept chipping away. Cutler went turnover free for the second time in three games. He won at Lambeau Field for the first time in his career. And he snapped an eight-game personal losing skid to the Packers.

Too cold

Matt Forte

After missing three games with a knee injury, Forte returned to action Thursday but never could get going. He rushed for 44 yards on 15 carries, a subpar 2.9-yard per carry average. On a wet night, against a sturdy defensive front, Forte's performance was far from disastrous. But down the stretch of the season, the Bears are going to need to squeeze more out of the soon-to-be-30-year-old running back.

Just right

Chris Prosinski

Making his second consecutive start at safety in place of the injured Antrel Rolle, Prosinski gave the Bears the spark they needed with 10:44 left in the second quarter when he forced a fumble on Packers running back Eddie Lacy. The Bears capitalized on the takeaway with their first TD drive. Prosinski later made a key touchdown-saving tackle on James Starks at the Bears 5, helping to hold the Packers to a field goal late in the half.
