Greater Manchester Police’s Transport Unit arrested three youths for public order offences as well as assaulting officers on bus and tram routes in the Ashton part of the city on Wednesday night.
The unit conducted various bus and tram deployments in the area, with assistance from officials from Transport for Greater Manchester, as they attempted to support both passengers and staff.
A large group of anti-social behaviour youths were dispersed from the Interchange and it was from this gathering that the arrests were made.
The public are asked to dial 999 immediately in an emergency or call 101 for non-emergency incidents.
