Gardaí have arrested three men after a car was set alight in the driveway of a house in south Dublin.
Garda officers and fire services responded to the incident in Leopardstown yesterday.
The shocking scene unfolded just before 10pm when the emergency services were contacted about the incident in Orby Park.
A second car that was parked in the driveway was also damaged in the fire.
Luckily, no one who was in the house was injured in the incident.
The fire was brought under control and by fire services personnel and the scene was preserved for forensic examination.
A short time later, Gardai stopped a car on the M50 motorway at Knocklyon.
The occupants of the car, two men in their 30s and another in his 20s, were arrested in connection with the incident.
All three are currently being detained by Gardaí under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939 at Dundrum Garda Station.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
They are particularly appealing to anyone with camera footage from the Orby Park area at the time of the incident to make it available to them.
