Gardai have recovered a shotgun after it was thrown from a car in west Dublin.
Officers examined the gun at the scene before it was taken away by the authorities.
Additionally, three people were arrested after a vehicle was stopped in the Wellview of Mulhuddart at around 8.30 pm.
The find came as a part of an investigation undertaken by Blanchardstown Crime Task Force and their Detective Unit.
Gardai are trying to determine if the firearm was connected to a local crime gang.
