Three arrests after pensioner seriously assaulted at beauty spot

Three men have been arrested after a pensioner was seriously assaulted at a Wigan beauty spot.

The 70-year-old suffered serious facial injuries after being attacked near Bottling Wood Dam in Swiley.

He was taken to hospital for treatment.

Three men, aged 20, 21 and 22 have since been arrested on suspicion on assault and remain in custody for questioning.

The attack took place at at about 3.30pm on Thursday.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses.
