Three arrested over death of man in Melbourne's bayside

The man died at the scene despite the efforts of paramedics.

Three men have been arrested over the death of a man in Melbourne's bayside suburbs.

Police were called to an address on Alexander Street, Brighton East, shortly before 8:30pm following reports of an assault.

A man in his 30s was found with serious injuries and in cardiac arrest.

Paramedics were unable to revive him and he died at the scene.

Three men aged 36, 37 and 41, all from Brighton East, were arrested at the scene.

The homicide squad is investigating and not charges have been laid.

A neighbour said he believed the men were tenants at the property, and he did not hear or see any signs of a disturbance when the incident happened.

Forensic investigators spent most of the night at the house and scouring the street for evidence.

They also filmed and took photos of a dual-cab ute at the house before taking it away.
