Three arrested near M62 slip road after post office robbery in Skipton

An M62 slip road was closed off by police as three men were arrested in connection with a robbery this afternoon.

Officers swooped near junction 29 of the M62 just before 2.30pm and arrested three men following reports of a robbery in Skipton just an hour before.

Our traffic partner INRIX reported that one lane on the junction 29 exit slip road was temporarily closed due to the police incident.

North Yorkshire Police were called to Swadford Street post office in Skipton at around 1.25pm on Friday and a large scale search of the area took place.

It is believed no weapons were used in the alleged robbery and nobody was injured - officers are working to establish whether anything was taken.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said the three men arrested are in custody with West Yorkshire Police while investigations continue.
