Three young people have been arrested tonight as police report youths have ‘thrown missiles’ at them and members of the public.
Over the weekend, Merseyside Police have complained about anti-social behaviour in the West Derby Village area and have urged parents to check where their children are.
On a Facebook post, the force asked ‘parents do you know where your children are and what they are doing?’
Police reported that this evening they and members of the public suffered verbal abuse and had missiles thrown at them while ‘trying to keep people safe’.

As a result, three youths have been arrested and taken home for cycling offences, public order offences and possessions of fireworks.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: “Parents do you know where your children are and what they are doing!
“This evening and the past 2 evenings we have received numerous complaints of anti-Social behaviour in the West Derby Village area.
“Tonight 3 youths have been arrested and taken home for a number of offences including dangerous cycling offences, public order offences and possession of fireworks.

“Members of the public and officers have suffered verbal abuse and had missiles thrown at them for trying to keep people safe.
“This behaviour will not be tolerated and Merseyside Police will work with partners to identify anyone engaging in this behaviour, or breaches of Covid restrictions.”
