Three men were arrested after corner shop staff were held at knife point in Southport.
Emergency services rushed to Freshways shop, in Rufford Road, at around 9.25pm after reports a member of staff was being held at knifepoint by two men.
The offenders ran from the scene after stealing cash and cigarettes.

The victim was not injured during the robbery.
Officers attended and, assisted by the National Police Air Service helicopter, traced three men who were detained near the scene.
Three teenagers were arrested on suspicion of robbery offences and were tonight in custody awaiting questioning.
Detective Inspector Nick Suffield said: “This would have been a shocking incident for the victim and, while he was physically unharmed, he has understandably been left shaken by the experience.
“It is completely unacceptable to target people working and trying to earn an honest living in the heart of our communities in Merseyside.
“Officers attended and have made three swift arrests, but we are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed any part of this incident. Your description, CCTV or dashcam could be vital in piecing together the circumstances.”
CCTV, house to house and forensic enquiries are ongoing.
