Three arrested after massive Dublin chase 'as drugs found in car'

Three men were arrested tonight after a high-speed car chase put Dublin on lockdown.

A massive Garda response was sparked as cars, SUVs, armed officers and helicopters hurtled after a blue Honda Accord, which failed to stop for officers in Finglas this evening.

Remarkable footage from bystanders showed the vehicle cutting across and speeding down roads with scores of gardai on its tail.

Locals reported their vehicles being stopped as officers tried to prevent collisions.

The chase tore across the capital before stopping at East Wall, when one man tried to escape on foot near Connolly station.

Further videos showed a man being arrested and hauled off the tracks by nine gardai, while trains between Connolly and Clontarf had to be halted by Irish Rail so gardai could access the area.

A source told the Irish Mirror that the car was not believed to be stolen but did fail to stop and drugs were allegedly found in the vehicle following the chase.

Material was also thrown from the car during the incident.

Gardai could not be reached for comment.
