Three arrested after man discovered with 'serious' head injuries in Newry, Co Down

A man has been rushed to hospital after he was found with serious head injuries on a street in a busy Irish town.

The main was found in the New Street area of Newry, Co Down in the early hours of Monday morning.

His condition is said to be 'critical'.

Belfast Live reports that three people have been arrested following the discovery.

Three arrests have been made (Facebook PSNI Newry)

A PSNI spokesman said: "A male was located in New Street Newry at 2.25am with serious head injuries and remains critically ill in hospital. We have arrested 3 people who remain in custody.

"If you saw anything suspicious in this area around this time please call us on 101 & quote ref 165 03/06/19."
