Three arrested after firearm allegedly discharged at Scots farm

Three people have been arrested after a firearm was allegedly discharged at a Scots farm.

Armed police officers and specialist negotiators attended the scene in Stemster, John O’Groats on Wednesday August 4.

There were no injuries and police have confirmed that there is no threat to the community in the wider Caithness area.

Two men and one woman were arrested but have since been released pending further enquiries into the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Armed police officers and specialist negotiators were in attendance at a farm in Stemster, John O’Groats.

"It follows a report received by police of a possible firearm being discharged.

“No-one has been injured and there is no threat to the wider community.

"Two men and one woman were arrested and have been released pending further enquiries.”

It comes after police rushed to a street in Larkhall late last month after reports of a firearm being discharged outside a property.

A 43-year-old man was arrested in connection with a disturbance, however he was later released without charge.

Police confirmed no arrests were made in connection with that incident.
