Three arrested after drugs, cash and imitation gun discovered in raids in Hardwick Street, Dublin

Three men have been arrested after gardai seized drugs, cash and an imitation firearm following raids on a number of flats in the city centre.

Gardai swooped on the seven flats in the Hardwick Street area at 4pm this afternoon.

The operation is part of ongoing investigations into the sale and supply of controlled drugs and is specifically targeting those involved in street level dealing in the north inner city area.

Over €40,000 worth of cannabis, cocaine worth €3,000 and €4,500 in cash have been seized in the operation, which is still ongoing.

An imitation handgun and pepper-spray were also recovered.

A garda spokesman said: "Three men in their 20s have been arrested and are currently detained for questioning at Mountjoy Garda Station under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

"The operation, which is ongoing, commenced at 4pm and is led by Gardaí from the District Community Action Team based at Mountjoy Station with assistance from Emergency Response, Armed Support and local Roads Policing Units."
