Three areas in Bristol region where the virus is almost suppressed

Three areas across the Bristol region now have fewer than three coronavirus cases, meaning the virus is almost suppressed.

The data - which covers the seven days to February 5 - shows all three postcodes where infection rates are some of the lowest in the country are in North Somerset.

Meanwhile, four areas in Bristol now have infection rates below 100 per 100,000, a rise from the previous three.

And five postcodes in South Gloucestershire have Covid rates below 100 per 100,000.

An interactive map released by the Government illustrates how prevalent the virus has been in each area across the region over the most recent seven day period.

It reveals parts of Clevedon, Wedmore and Chew now have some of the lowest cases in the country.

  • Marshfield, Wick & Hawkesbury - 4 (37.4)
  • Chipping Sodbury - 5 (77.6)
  • Almondsbury, Pilning & Severn Beach - 8 (89.5)
  • Thornbury North - 8 (98)
  • Frampton Cotterell - 7 (99.7)
