Three appeals lodged against Amateur League after season ends early

The Irish FA has received three appeals against the Northern Amateur Football League after its season was ended early due to the coronavirus crisis.

It is understood Donaghadee, Rosario and Greenisland have all lodged separate appeals against the league.

The season was declared as 'unfinished' earlier this month with no wholesale relegation or promotion throughout the division.

The only exception was 1C's Rosemount who, having already finished their 24-game campaign in an unassailable position, are set to go up to 1B as champions.

It is understood the appeal hearings will be an independent process led by a barrister, but no dates have been set yet.

Meanwhile, Enniskillen Town United have lodged an appeal in the Fermanagh and Western League.

The FWL voted to end their season earlier this month, with titles and promotion to be awarded on an average points per game basis and with no relegation.

The decision followed a voting process involving member clubs.

Elsewhere, Ardglass have lodged an appeal against the Newcastle and District League.
