Threave Rovers Youth Development take on 12-hour charity challenge

Players from Threave Rovers Youth Development are taking part in a special football match this weekend.

The kids from the 2007s team will be taking part in a 12-hour, six-a-side challenge at the new all-weather facility at Castle Douglas High School.

It’s part of their fundraising efforts for the Westsound Cash For Kids Big Sports Challenge. The action kicks off at 10am, with a series of one hour games scheduled to take place.

Other fundraisers to have taken place as part of the big sports challenge include a 12-hour cycle in Castle Douglas Tesco.

And they’ve already smashed their £1,500 target with the aim being to finish the challenge as the top fundraising group and earn an extra £5,000.

Money raised will help with developing the club’s facilities and offering training for youngsters.

Anyone who would like to support them can head down to the high school on Saturday or visit www.cashforkidsgive.co.uk/campaign/westsound-sports-challenge-2022/fundraisers/threave-rovers-youth-development-/
