Threave Rovers move clear at top of South of Scotland League with 3-1 win over Stranraer

Two Andrew Donley goals helped Threave Rovers win the top of the table clash with Stranraer at Meadow Park.

The hosts opened the scoring after half an hour as Kieran McKie’s cross was converted by Donley.

Just before the break they added a second, Donley scoring with a cheeky backheel.

Stranraer’s job got even harder in the second half when Lewis Dunn was sent packing for a bad challenge on Andy Forsyth but they looked capable of getting themselves back into the game until Scott Milligan found McKie who scored with a fantastic finish.

Stranraer pulled one back late on but it was scant consolation.

This weekend Threave are at home again as they welcome Lochar Thistle to Meadow Park.
