Threave Rovers make two new signings before coronavirus shutdown begins

Threave Rovers made two new signings before the latest coronavirus shutdown.

Ross Green and Finlay Bainbridge had both moved to Meadow Park before the SFA paused the season on Monday.

Boss Vinnie Parker said: “From a selfish point of view we’ve made a couple of signings and got boys back from injury so obviously we’d like to have played but this virus is on our doorstep and we need to do what we can to get through.

“I played with Ross at Dalbeattie and he has been playing in Dundee. He’s the left-sided player I’ve been chasing since pre-season.

“I was desperate to get him but with the situation he was in at Dundee it wasn’t easy. We’re delighted to get him on board.

“Finlay is on loan from Stirling Uni. He is back down in the area and his course has been cancelled so he’s come in until his degree starts back up again.”

While the squad has been boosted by two new arrivals, Parker doesn’t anticipate anyone departing any time soon.

He added: “We’ve lost a few since the start of the season for one reason or another but we’ve still got a decent number and we’ve got Dan Carmichael back fit again.

“To do what we want to do we need the squad size and depth and we’re in a great position squad size.”
