Threave Rovers make Ryan Adamson their sixth signing of the summer

Ryan Adamson has become Threave Rovers’ sixth signing of the summer.

The midfielder has moved to Meadow Park for the new South of Scotland League campaign, following in the footsteps of Grant Learmont, Phil Middlemiss, Ryan Coates, Ewan Gourlay and Callum Williams.

Boss Vinnie Parker said: “We’re really pleased to sign him as there was a lot of interest in him from elsewhere.

“He’s just set up his own business and it suits him to come to us.

“He was training last week and he looks very fit. Technically he’s very good so we’re delighted he’s signed for us.

“He played a few games with Heston last season but he’d been away in America and Australia before that.

“I think that is us more or less there with the squad, although we’re waiting to see what happens elsewhere, particularly at Queens.

“There’s the possibility of maybe another one or two depending what happens there.”

Threave returned to training last week with sessions on Tuesday and Thursday, the first time the players had been together since the shutdown began in March.

Parker added: “It was excellent. We had our Covid-19 officer there taking everyone’s temperature and we staggered the arrival times so it all worked well.”
