Threave Rovers have brought in defender Farrel O’Sullivan.
The former Dalbeattie Star man has moved to Meadow Park after leaving Gretna 2008.
Threave boss Vinnie Parker said: “I played with him before at Dalbeattie. He’s started up his own personal training business and is very busy, so he was struggling with commitments of the Lowland League.
“We’ve managed to step in and offer him something. He trained with us last week and will be a decent signing.”
Threave will finally return to action on Saturday after two blank weekends.
Newton Stewart will be visiting Castle Douglas and are just above Threave in the league table, although they have played two games more.
Parker said: “It’s going to be a tough game.
“It’s one we looked at a couple of weeks ago and knew it was going to be a challenge.
“They’ve got a good, young team with some very good players so it should be a good match and it’s one we’re looking forward to.
“We need to keep banging points on the board.
“Our sole aim at the moment is to get through these games and get points smashed on the board.
“We weren’t able to get a friendly last week so we trained hard on Monday and Wednesday and we’ll train hard again this week.
“We did a lot of running and the boys are looking fit.
“We had a couple of knocks so the break has probably given them the chance to recover.”
Ross Green is closing in on a return to full fitness but Ewan Gourlay will miss out and Liam Patterson is missing with a long-term injury.
