Threave Rovers are facing a fixture backlog just a few months into the season.
Their game at home to Stranraer was cancelled on Saturday with their opponents unable to raise a team for coronavirus reasons.
It’s the second time it’s happened to the Castle Douglas side this season while a game against Lochar Thistle was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
Boss Vinnie Parker said: “We had more than 50 people booked in for hospitality and we got an email on Friday night saying the game had been called off.
“There’s a knock on effect when these things happen.
“We want to get games played. We’d tried playing Lochar in midweek but it was knocked back.
“We requested it and it was knocked back, Lochar requested it and it was knocked back and we don’t know why.
“The cup draws have now been made but I thought 50 per cent of the league games had to be played before we started on them. We’ve already had two games cancelled due to Covid.
“Who knows what’s round the corner with winter?
“With the new fixtures that have come out we’ve four game against Mids and three games in a row against Lochar. Who wants to come to see the same game three weeks in a row?”
Threave are currently seven points behind South of Scotland League leaders St Cuthbert Wanderers but have three games in hand.
However, they won’t get the chance to tackle the backlog this weekend as they have another blank Saturday.
“We played Queen of the South last week and it was definitely a worthwhile exercise but we don’t want to play the same team again.”
