Threat of strike action as Nottingham City Transport pay offer rejected

The threat of strike action looms as Nottingham City Transport workers have rejected another pay offer from the company.

NCT has confirmed their latest pay offer had been rejected as of Tuesday, December 14.

The company's latest offer represented a pay increase of between 8.3% and 9.7% for drivers by January 2023.

Talks have been ongoing between NCT and worker's union Unite over staff's pay, with worker's recently balloting over the improvised offer.

Drivers had rejected a pay offer last month and NCT bosses say they are "disappointed" that another offer has again not been accepted by their staff.

David Astill, Managing Director of Nottingham City Transport, said: “We are disappointed that the improved offer has been rejected by our drivers.

"We will continue to negotiate with the Unite representatives and have committed to reconvene discussions early in the new year”.

It comes as strikes have already taken place from NET staff after the GMB Union rejected a revised pay offer from the company.
