'Make or break' - David Prutton delivers his prediction for Stoke City v Nottingham Forest

It is early stages of the Sky Bet Championship season – but Nottingham Forest could move top of the table tomorrow night.

While there is still a large chunk of the campaign remaining, to top the division at any stage would be a boost for Sabri Lamouchi and his side.

To do just that, it will require three points away to Stoke City in Friday night’s televised fixture.

The Reds head there on the back of a 5-0 Carabao Cup defeat to Arsenal, but without defeat in the League since the opening day, when they were beaten 2-1 by West Bromwich Albion.

It’s been a different story for Stoke. The Potters have two points from their eight games and are second from bottom.

Nathan Jones is a man under pressure and knows defeat at the bet365 Stadium tomorrow could signal the end of his Stoke tenure.

Sky pundit, and former Forest man, David Prutton has predicted a 2-0 win for the visitors.

“It feels like I have said this every week, probably because I have!” Prutton said.

“But this really could be make or break for Nathan Jones. The defeat at Crawley on penalties in the Carabao Cup in midweek was another real blow for Stoke's season.

“Nottingham Forest, despite their thrashing at Arsenal, are in pretty decent nick in the Championship and haven't lost since the opening day. They should have too much confidence and see off Stoke.”
