Hundreds of thousands of people queued up this morning to gain access to the Aldi website in the hope that they could get their hands on the supermarket's most popular Special Buy.
Yesterday Edinburgh Live reported how Aldi planned on bringing back their £149 rattan egg chair today, Sunday April 4 - and while it was always expected to sell out quickly- more people than ever have queued up this morning to try and get their hands on the popular bargain item.
When we tried to access the chair on the Aldi website at around 9.30am this morning, we were met with a virtual queue that stated a whopping 184,918 people were in front of us.
It is understood that the popular item was restocked at around 5am this morning, with eager shoppers setting an early alarm hoping not to miss out.
The chair's egg basket is made of rattan, comes with a set of dark grey cushions, and is held in the air by a sturdy silver chain hanging from a grey iron frame. It can also be detached from the chain so that it can easily be put in any spot in the garden.
We were told by the Aldi website that it could be 30 minutes before we get on the site with almost 185,000 others in front of us. But sadly we were given a message to inform us that the egg chair had already sold out.
