(Picture: PA Wire)Almost three quarters of a million people have signed up for a spoof Christmas rave at Downing Street after it was advertised of Facebook.
The event, which went viral online, claims to offer “no social distancing” and said partygoers can “bring who you like and your own nibbles and drink”.
It was set up by DJ and filmmaker Jon Mancini in response to the alleged lockdown-busting Christmas party at Downing Street last Christmas.
Since it was featured on the social media site, 282,000 people have said they are going and 435,000 clicking to say they are interested.
It comes after the Prime Minister’s former spokeswoman Allegra Stratton stepped down from her role in the wake of a video leak showing her joking about a Downing Street Christmas party at a mock press conference.
Cabinet Secretary Simon Case has launched an investigation into what happened on December 18, 2020 in Downing Street.
There have also been a series of further allegations about parties involving senior Tories and officials during the lockdown.
Facebook users have responded with a stream of jokes poking fun at the Prime Minister.
One wrote: “But is it a ‘party’?” Another wrote: “Yes I’m in but working from home!!”
