NEW DELHI: Social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, experienced a major outage Monday evening, with users in the US and India reporting difficulties accessing the service.
According to outage tracking website Downdetector, more than 40,900 reports of issues were recorded in the US at around 7.12pm (around 6am India time).
The spike was sharply higher than the baseline level of complaints, indicating a sudden disruption.
In India, Downdetector showed over 3,100 reports at approximately 7.15pm local time. Users flagged problems with both the website and the mobile application.
Data from the tracking platform suggested that the majority of complaints were related to the website not loading.
