Thousands raised in one day for family devastated by caravan fire in Ffair Rhos

Almost £4,000 has been raised in one day to help a Welsh family devastated by a caravan fire.

A fire broke out in a caravan next to a house in the village of Ffair Rhos, near Tregaron in Ceredigion, in the early hours of Sunday, January 19. Three-year-old Zac Harvey died and his brother Harley, four, and father Shaun Harvey were taken to hospital.

A fundraising page was set up on Tuesday in an effort to support the family, and it has already raised more than £3,700.

Set up by friends of the family, the page says: “We are fundraising to support the family of Harley and Zac Harvey.

“Their lives have been torn apart by a devastating accident. The family are deeply loved by many people, both in the local community and beyond.

“So many have been asking what they can do to help. We hope that by raising funds we can provide some stability for the family and enable those that would like to help in some way an avenue to do this.”

Shaun Harvey and his son Harley both remain in hospital. Shaun is in a stable condition and Harley is in a critical but stable condition.
