More than £8,000 has been raised for the family of a 'true legend' M&S employee in Falkirk.
The passing of John McAleer, also known as, Mr Falkirk M&S John, has shocked the district and more so his family, friends and colleagues.
The 53-year-old always had a smile on his face and gave customers a friendly welcome at the Central Retail Park store.
But sadly, he took ill last Wednesday and passed away a short-time later.
A JustGiving was started to help John's family and raised over £6,000 in 24 hours.
A statement on the page reads: "Falkirk Bairns have been outpouring in their grief and gratitude following the utterly devastating news regarding John McAleer, aka Mr Falkirk, M&S John, who has sadly passed away.
"John is well known as the cheery face at the door keeping everybody safe and knowing most customers by their name. A genuinely lovey guy who has left behind a much loved wife Lesley and son Adam. We all knew him as the happy cheeky guy at M&S always full of the chat and an absolute pleasure to know.
"People have all been genuinely shocked and saddened by this tragedy and want to help so this fundraiser has been created for the family John has left behind.
"We couldn't let Johns passing go without a tribute to the wonderful customer service he has given to the Falkirk Bairns for all these years and this page is created for this wonderful gentleman from our town.
"Rest in peace John xxx"
