Thousands of Sky customers will see monthly bills rise from August in latest price hike

Thousands of Sky customers may be enjoying the return on live sport to the TV and broadband provider’s platform, but they’re about to see their bills rise in August.

Sky already hiked its prices for millions of customers in April and says the latest increase will only apply to subscribers whose bills didn't go up at that time – so if your prices increased in April, you won’t be affected.

Affected customers will see the cost of their Entertainment TV package increase by £2 a month while Sky's Essentials broadband customers will also incur a £2 a month increase.

And people with multiscreen services or HD TV packages will have £1 a month added to their bill.

Those worst hit could see bills rise by £6 a month in total - an increase of £72 a year - but Sky has calculated the average rise will be half that at £36.

Increases come into effect on your August bill.

Sky Cinema, Sky Kids, and Sky Sports TV packages are unchanged, along with superfast broadband and home phone prices.

Sky subscription changes

The price increases are the same as those that came into effect in April.

Sky Broadband Essential

  • Increase: £2 per month
  • New monthly subscription cost: £22

Sky Entertainment

  • Increase: £2 per month

  • New monthly subscription cost: £24

Sky TV Multiscreen

  • Increase: £1 per month

  • New monthly subscription cost: £14

Sky HDTV

  • Increase: £1 per month

  • New monthly subscription cost: £6

Sky customers affected by the price increase should now be receiving emails informing them of the changes to their August bill, if you’ve not received one yet, log into your Sky account here and check your future bills.
