Thousands of revellers are expected to attend what is being billed as ‘the biggest party ever to hit Stokes Croft’ this weekend. The 14-hour event on Saturday will span more than ten venues in the area and include hundreds of DJs, musicians and performers.
Called the Stokes Croft Block Party, access to the event will be via one wristband that allows people entry to any participating venue, subject to the venue’s capacity. Alternatively, people can purchase a daytime-only ticket and a night-only ticket.
Venues participating include Lakota, Lakota Gardens, The Oasis, Coroner’s Court, Love Inn, Full Moon, Attic Bar, The Social, Pipe and Slippers, No.51 and The Bell.

A statement from the organisers posted on social media says: “This year we are excited to finally say once more that the Stokes Croft Block will be making its long awaited return. Famous for being one of the best events of the year, join us for a summer celebration right in the heart of Stokes Croft.”
Organisers say people can expect special guest headliners and the South West’s finest event brands. These include DJs and artists performing a wide range of music such as DnB, jungle, garage, house, techno, disco, funk, reggae, ska and Afrobeats.
Artists lined up include Critical Impact & Jakes, Ill Truth & Bluejay, MC Alex Virgo, Benton, Jook, Riz la Teef and A For Alpha. Featured brands include Cocktail Club, Dazed Disco Social Club, Eject Records and Emergency Room.
Tickets for the over-18s event on Saturday May 14 start from £5. A donation from the profits will be given to local charities St Mungo’s, One25 and Caring in Bristol.
According to the Facebook page, more than 4,000 people have already responded to the message about the event taking place. But such a large number of revellers partying around Stokes Croft is sure to remind some local residents of similar events in the area in recent years.
In June 2020, around 1,000 people attended a street party where music played from a sound system into the early hours. The impromptu rave near Nine Tree Hill took place during lockdown restrictions and one resident told Bristol Live that it was ‘clearly an organised event with people tightly packed together and unbelievably loud music’.
