A group of friends are doing their bit to help the community in this time of need.
Originally the group started Portishead Coronavirus Support Network, which has enrolled hundreds of volunteers to help self-isolating people through lockdown.
Now they are spearheading Southmead Hospital Charity to raise funds for Southmead Hospital.
Businesswoman Lisa Denniss is helping in the venture with colleagues Amie Gazzard, Emma Blackmore, Caroline Sutor and Ciara Ward-Jenkins.
'We need the NHS and the NHS staff'
Lisa, 41, of Portishead, told Bristol Live: "I knew people would need support in the community and we were in contact with local councils.
"We felt we needed to support the hospital as well.
"I think we all need to pull together and help as much as we can.
"We need the NHS and the NHS staff."
