Making home decor changes and renovations can be a costly affair, but one mum's room transformation for her daughter's bedroom has caused quite the stir - and it's easy to recreate.
For less than £20, the mum painted her daughter's bedroom wall and used wallpaper samples to create the effect of mermaid scales.
Taking to Facebook , the mum explained the paint cost £14.99, the wallpaper samples were free from B&M and B&Q and she bought wallpaper paste for £1.99, also from B&M.
She arranged the scales over one corner of the room to create the effect which has since gone viral.
To finish, she added a small circular mirror that cost £1 from Poundland.
The post currently has 19,000 likes on Facebook and more than 2,000 comments from people praising the idea.
Many people said they were going to give it a try themselves, pointing out that it's a budget friendly way to create an effective decor update.
The total cost of the feature wall transformation was £17.98.
