Thousands of Marks and Spencer Food Hall shoppers rushing to buy new Easter treat

Thousands of Marks and Spencer shoppers are keen to snap up a new baked product after spotting it online.

Marks and Spencer Food Halls remain open during lockdown and people are permitted to go shopping when needing to stock up on essential items.

Other M&S items are available via the website for delivery or click and collect. Non-essential purchases can also be made during these visits.

The high-street favourite has also been keeping fans updated on its stock via social media.

Taking to Instagram, the retailer shared a photo of a sweet treat which had thousands of shoppers keen to make a purchase.

The picture shows M&S's new hot cross "yumnuts", released in time for Easter.

Of the image, Marks and Spencer penned: "Love hot cross buns? Love Yumnuts™? You need to try our new HOT CROSS YUMNUTS™! Our brand new fluffy Yumnuts™, glazed with a hot cross bun-spiced topping and topped with chocolate chips, are this Easter's must-try sweet treat. Tag the Yumnut™ eater in your life!"

And the item was a quick hit among shoppers, pulling in more than 10,000 likes and over 1,000 comments.
