Thousands of Irish Netflix customers to be hit with price increase in the coming days

The price of some Netflix subscriptions are set to rise next Sunday,the 28th of February.

Users who currently have a standard Netflix subscription- which allows them to view two screens at the same time- will see their monthlycharge rise by a euro, from €11.99 to €12.99 a month.

The premium subscription plan, which allows for viewing on up to four devices, will also increase from €15.99 to €17.99.

Those who have a basic plan, which only allows for viewing on one screen at any time, will not see a price hike.

Standard subscriptions are set to remain at €7.99.

The rollercoaster of lockdowns in Ireland has given people more time to watch TV in the past year.


Shows such as Normal People, It's A Sin, WandaVision and The Mandalorian have become household favourites.

On Netflix alone, titles like Fate: The Winx Saga, Bridgerton, Emily in Paris, Tiger King and Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel have been binged the world over.
