Thousands of Dublin Airport staff to have their rosters reviewed ahead of summer schedule as number of passengers continue to rise

Staff at Dublin Airport are set to have their rosters reviewed as passenger numbers keep rising at the airport ahead of a hectic summer schedule.

The Dublin Airport Authority (daa) says that as it continues to get busier at the gates, they will be looking to make the workplace more engaged.

A spokesman for daa said: "We have gone out to the market to get some external help as we seek to determine whether our current rosters – some of which have been in place for a long time – are fit for purpose.

"We want to enhance overall workforce engagement in the business while continuing to meet the needs of our customers and also balance that with differing preferences of staff."

The Irish Mirror reports, of the airport's 3,000 staff, 75% do shift work on a 24 hour basis everyday of the year.

The review should determine a solution for 24/7 operations which are to allow for balance between staff flexibility and personal preferences.
