Thousands of customers without power due to ESB fault in north Dublin

Thousands of customers are without electricity in north Dublin due to an ESB fault.

The fault, which is understood to be affecting at least 2,291 customers, is in Fairview.

There have been reports of customers affected in areas near Fairview, including Clontarf.

According to ESB Powercheck, the fault was reported just before 2pm this afternoon.

Power is expected to return to the area by 3pm.

In a message to customers, ESB said: "We apologise for the loss of supply. We are currently working to repair a fault affecting your premises and will restore power as quickly as possible."
