Brits are expected to flock to the beaches with the Met Office predicting “fierce” sunshine on Sunday with temperatures rising to 33C ahead of "freedom day".
After a rainy start to summer, sun lovers are lapping up the rays with the temperature likely to be higher still on Sunday than Saturday - the hottest day of the year so far.
Tom Morgan, meteorologist at the Met Office, said: "Temperatures are expected to increase even further on Sunday, reaching highs of 33C in the south of the UK."
He added an extended hot spell will head into next week: "It's going to mean that people are really going to feel the effects of the heat as we go through this week."
Thousands have hit the beaches across the country at popular resorts including Brighton and Bournemouth on the south coast.
With many people set to hit the roads the RAC has told people to take care on busy roads while there is also a chance of congestion.
There have also been warnings for Brits to use sun cream.
A Met forecaster said: “Blue skies and sunshine once again and that sunshine will be fierce so you will need your sun protection if you’re outdoors.
"You might see one or two afternoon showers developing in that heat and it will be hot. Temperatures peaking at around 32C in parts of England.
"Sunday evening any lingering showers will gradually fade away with some late sunshine on offer. Staying rather cloudy across Scotland though with patchy rain.
“This weekend’s hot weather has been brought to us by a slow moving area of high pressure and that high pressure staying with us for the coming days with many of us seeing the very warm weather continue.”
There is also a warning from Public Health England to keep hydrated, don’t leave kids or pets in cars and look out for more vulnerable people who may struggle in the heat.

Today:
Plenty of sunshine across most parts and turning hot, especially in the south. An isolated heavy shower is possible later in the afternoon. Cooler and cloudier across northern and western Scotland with a little rain and drizzle.
Tonight:
A warm night, especially in the south. Clear skies for many, but low cloud and perhaps a little drizzle affecting parts of the north and east.
Monday:
Low cloud in the northeast breaking to allow sunny spells, but cooler along North Sea coasts. Hot sunshine for southern and western parts. Chance of the odd heavy shower later.
Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:
Dry, very warm or hot, and sunny for most places. Isolated heavy showers possible. Cloudier and cooler in the far north and at times along the east coast.
